Dial T for trouble Daily Record 25/04/1995 Persistant Ian Gomeche rang up trouble when he tried to uncover alleged shady dealings in a computer firm. He made nearly 300 phone calls to the firm's office in the space of six weeks. During that time he ran up phone bills of more than pounds 1250. But the computer firm shared its base with two other companies. Gomeche's calls started to affect their businesses and the police were called. At Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday, he admitted three charges of breach of the peace. "His suspicions were well-founded but his actions were over-zealous," said Mark Harrower, defending. The court heard Gomeche, 43, of Portlethen, near Aberdeen, was trying to trace a local businessman involved in the firm. Information he uncovered was handed to police and trading standards chiefs. The businessman has since been charged with extortion. Sentence was deferred for six months.
