IF YOU don't want a beige plastic computer you get an iMac, right? Not quite - how about a wooden PC?

This system from Techstyle includes a mouse (pounds 100), keyboard (pounds 220) and 15in flat LCD monitor
(pounds 1,290).

It's not cheap but it's carved from solid maple, with no tacky veneer in sight. And the technology beneath the

BIG Brother - the Channel 4 re-hash of the 24/7 fly-on-the-wall show that had Holland glued to the net - is copping
out before it begins. They're time-delaying the "live" webcast so editors can cut "pre-watershed" sex, violence and
swearing.

The rest of the time they'll censor the show, where 10 strangers are couped up in a house, to make sure no
"extreme acts" are shown.

Viewers vote to evict one contestant each Friday and the last left standing gets pounds 70,000.

But whereas in Holland every spit and cough was webcast, the C4 crowd are getting a bit carried away with the
Orwellian title - dusting down the broadcast so the proles don't get too excitable. They even call the censors a
"Compliance Team".

PROOFthat successful promo sites are about more than just plastering the logo of whatever you're plugging all
overthe place. Black Box Recorder's www.thefactsoflife.co.ukmay be there to hype their record, but it's not a bad site
for all that.

There's a massive list of random facts (e.g. a hippo can run faster than a man) and the BBR branding is so subtle
you can easily ignore it.

ATTENTION all ISP bosses. An annoying bloke called Ian Gomeche has been touting himself around as a freelance
reporter working for kelly's i. He isn't, never has been...and never will be.
